Shingles have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease . Findings: A recent study shows shingles vaccine can reduce cardiovascular event by 23%. Coronary heart disease can decrease by 22%. People age 50 vaccinated in this research. For this study 1.2 million adults age 50 data was studied in South korea from 2012. Scientists determined whether or not participants received a live zoster vaccine for shingles, which contains a weakened form of the varicella-zoster virus.

“shingles can trigger inflammation in blood vessles , this vaccine can also lower coronary disease” This study is based on Asian population and can vary to different population.
Shingles Vaccine: It’s a vaccine that can prevent shingles , a painful rash that cause by varicella-zoster virus(cause chicken pox). This vaccine is recommended for people over age 50. It is administered as two dose series second dose is given after 2 to 6 months after first dose. Shingrix provides strong protection against shingles, including the painful complication of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN).
Time duration: The protective effect of vaccines lasts from up to 8 years with the strongest benefits are seem from 2-3 years. Vaccine is beneficial for :

● People with unhealthy life styles such as drinking, smoking etc
Younger people will experience stronger benefits because of better immune response. By preventing shingles this vaccine can also lower heart diseases such as clot formation and damage of blood vessels ( leading to stroke and heart attack)
