Saudi Arab birth place of Holy Prophet Muhammad and known for Muslim history made a statement where they allowed limited sale of alcohol from next year.
According to saudi officials the reason behind limited unban is fifa world cup as saudi Arab is hosting fifa world cup 2034. Also for expo events 2030 which includes oil deals and to promote tourism limited alcohol will be sold from 2026.

●Alcohol is still banned in hotels , housing societies and in restaurants.
●Only licensed venues are allowed to sell alcohol.
●Train staff with strict rules will sell alcohol in limited areas.

Saudi Arabia has enriched islamic history and the ban on alcohol is from 1952. The country is going to unban alcohol after 73 years with limited sales of alcohol. The alcohol will be available at 600 locations which includes the county’s five star hotels , restaurants and specific locations.
According to Saudi Arab news channel’s: “ limited sell is allowed because of upcoming events in 2030 and 2034 , so that country can compete with UAE where alcohol is available at specific public locations”.
According to the Saudi Government drinks which contain 20% alcohol and are strong are still banned in the country.

Saudi Arab unbanned many things under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman such as allowing women’s to drive , Saudi Arab also unban concerts and cinema’s too.
Many people from Saudi Arab critised this new policy but many defended this saying it will help country to grow. The aim behind this unban is to increase tourism and technology so that country dependence on oil get reduce.
Many hotel owners welcomed this policy as it will increase country’s GDP and will increase tourism. In 2022 when Qatar was holding FIFA world cup they relax alcohol ban policies too allowing alchol to sold at limited venues.
Strict punishments will be given whoever sell alcohol without permit or license. Five star hotels in Saudi Arab are expecting more international customers because of the unban .
