About the Role

Join UMB’s Registered Funds Team, where you’ll play a critical role in delivering accounting, tax, audit, and administrative services for mutual funds and collective trusts. As a Senior Tax Administrator, you will lead a group of Tax Administrators by reviewing tax provisions, filings, and shareholder reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and review income and excise tax provisions, financial statement disclosures, and tax returns for assigned funds.
• Coordinate the tax portion of annual audits and provide timely documentation to auditors.
• Respond to client inquiries and support shareholder tax reporting, including Form 1099 disclosures.
• Prepare and review tax filings (federal, state, excise, and extensions) and supporting schedules.
• Manage miscellaneous tax filings such as IRS Forms SS-4, W-9, 1099-MISC, and FinCEN Forms.
• Calculate and review income and capital gain distributions.
• Collaborate with auditors on income and excise tax provisions for financial statements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and clients.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in mutual fund tax administration, corporate or partnership tax, or public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and financial reporting related to mutual funds.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
• Bonus points if you have:
• A Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax.
• CPA certification.
