About the Role

Sysco, the global leader in foodservice distribution, is seeking a Senior Manager for Local Sales Sustainability Strategy to drive the adoption of sustainability programs across Local Sales teams. This role will serve as the public face of sustainability, fostering engagement, promoting environmentally preferable products, and integrating sustainable practices into customer interactions.

You will work closely with sales leaders, merchandising teams, and field staff to enhance the customer experience while promoting One Planet One Table, sustainably certified, locally sourced, and emerging supplier products. You will also track and report on sustainability progress and ensure alignment with Sysco’s corporate sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Local Sales Alignment & Collaboration

  • Implement and execute sustainability strategies across all Local Sales teams.
  • Collaborate with field teams, merchandising, and technology groups to drive measurable sustainability impact.
  • Provide training and marketing support to promote sustainable product adoption.

Local Sourcing & Supplier Engagement

  • Collect, analyze, and act on data for locally sourced items to increase sales.
  • Work with suppliers to align with Sysco’s sustainability standards.
  • Support field teams in communicating the value of sustainable products to customers.

Sustainable Product Portfolio Support

  • Partner with merchandising and supply chain teams to expand sustainable product availability.
  • Ensure proper product attribution, pricing, and visibility in local markets.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Establish processes to monitor and report on sustainability initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve programs and support leadership decisions

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years in food sustainability, sales enablement, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of driving sustainability initiatives in sales or customer-facing environments.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability certifications, local sourcing, and supplier engagement best practices.
  • Experience with digital systems, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Sysco Field Sales experience preferred
