About the Role
Galloway & Company is seeking a Senior Fueling Engineer with deep expertise in fueling system design, implementation, and business development. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who can combine technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and relationship management to drive business growth and ensure the successful execution of fueling projects.
Responsibilities
Fueling System Design & Engineering
- Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of fueling systems across various applications, including:
- Aviation, bulk storage, fleet fueling, industrial storage, marine fueling, retail fueling, truck stops
- Emergency generators and other critical systems
- Incorporate knowledge of electrical power and low-voltage control systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Architectural/Structural, Energy, Permitting, Stormwater, SPCC, and Vehicle Circulation specialists.
- Implement process improvements to enhance plan set production and workflow efficiency.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new fueling industry opportunities.
- Develop client relationships, proposals, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive revenue growth by expanding market reach and leveraging emerging trends in fueling technology.
Mentoring & Talent Development
- Mentor junior engineers and team members, providing technical training and guidance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set development goals, and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Draft plans using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Prepare calculations for stormwater, wastewater, water systems, transportation, and earthwork quantities.
- Assist with cost estimates, permit applications, and supporting documents for public and private projects.
- Participate actively in business development initiatives.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in fueling system engineering, design, and implementation.
- Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, proposal writing, and contract negotiation.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards: IBC, API, ASME, NFPA, FAA.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for engineering design coordination and construction document production.
