The Role
Arize is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in executing accounting policies, managing revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and supporting month-end close activities. This role reports to the Accounting Director and works closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
This is a remote-first role, with optional office locations in New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area. Remote employees receive a monthly stipend for co-working spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Sales Support
- Prepare revenue recognition analysis under ASC 606 for SaaS subscriptions and multi-year contracts.
- Manage revenue schedules and perform monthly revenue close procedures.
- Support Sales team with contract questions and billing guidance.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Oversee end-to-end invoicing for global customers in various formats and currencies.
- Resolve billing issues and inquiries with Sales to ensure timely collections.
- Maintain accurate customer billing documentation and onboarding requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage sales tax compliance, including filings, nexus monitoring, and transaction-level questions.
- Support month-end and period-close tasks, including audit preparation.
- Identify process improvements in revenue recognition, collections, and month-end close.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 4–8 years in accounting, preferably in SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong GAAP knowledge, especially ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 340-40 (Capitalized Contract Costs).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Familiarity with sales tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion with sensitive financial information.
