We are looking for an Intermediate Building Envelope Specialist to work on both new construction and restoration projects, delivering technical excellence and innovation in building design.
About the Role
As an Intermediate Building Envelope Specialist, you will:
- Lead building envelope assessments and forensic investigations, including budgeting, quantity takeoffs, and detailed reporting.
- Design building envelopes for new constructions and provide repair/restoration solutions for existing structures.
- Write and review project specifications and collaborate with BIM teams to develop drawings, details, and sketches.
- Review construction submittals and shop drawings while providing field support and contract administration.
- Conduct research on new building products, materials, and systems to enhance performance.
- Provide technical guidance on small to medium-scale projects through project management, team leadership, and coordination.
- Ensure quality standards are met across all deliverables and contribute to internal technical standards and design tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Science, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil/Structural preferred).
- 3–7 years of experience in building envelope consulting or related construction projects.
- Professional designation (P.Eng., P.L.Eng.) or eligibility is an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and CAD/BIM software.
- Strong English communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating lifts, scaffolding, and accessing sloped roofs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; willingness to travel is a plus.
