About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Instructional Systems Designer to create and enhance training programs that support mission-critical operations. You will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design engaging curriculum, lesson plans, quick guides, and role based learning modules. Your work will ensure training content is practical, effective, and aligned with operational needs especially in Department of Defense (DoD) and USAF environments.

This role is fully remote with occasional travel to Scott AFB, IL to collaborate with key stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply instructional systems design (ISD) methodologies to develop training materials such as lesson plans, vignettes, and quick guides.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to gather feedback and ensure content meets operational and organizational goals.
  • Update and maintain training programs to reflect changes in technology, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and improve existing instructional materials for enhanced learning outcomes.
  • Support delivery of training across various platforms and learning environments.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Factors, or a related field.
  • Active Secret clearance required (TS/SCI preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience designing curriculum and role-based training, ideally aligned with DoD or USAF requirements.
  • Experience with mission planning systems training such as JMPS, JOMS, or NOMS is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and live within 2–3 hours of Scott AFB, Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
  • Experience evaluating training effectiveness and revising content based on learner feedback.
  • Knowledge of DoD/USAF training environments and systems.
