As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee reporting and consolidation activities for Empower’s non-life entities. You will analyze financial data across US GAAP, Statutory, and IFRS frameworks, ensuring accuracy, insight, and consistency throughout quarterly closes. Your work strengthens financial integrity, supports collaboration across teams, and enables informed business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly journal entries, including GAAP adjustments and transfer pricing.
  • Review financial statement presentation entries prepared by offshore associates.
  • Perform consolidation reviews, intercompany analyses, and equity rolls.
  • Lead transfer pricing programs in partnership with FP&A, Tax, and Actuarial teams.
  • Oversee intercompany reporting and resolve open items with Treasury and other teams.
  • Conduct annual ledger maintenance reviews to ensure entity-level accuracy.
  • Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and quarterly control certifications.
  • Provide financial statement support and manage audit deliverables.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in non-life subsidiaries, equity accounting, consolidation, and transfer pricing.
  • Train and mentor team members on transfer pricing and intercompany processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of accounting, finance, or business analysis experience.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, Statutory, and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred / Added Experience:

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA licensure.
  • Experience in public accounting or audit firms.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or large ERP systems.
  • Expertise in consolidation accounting and transfer pricing.
  • Proven track record of improving accounting processes or internal controls.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior team members.

  • Hybrid role based in Boston, or fully remote across the U.S.
