About the Role

Red Hat is looking for a Dedicated Operations Technical Account Manager (DO-TAM) to support our public sector clients on their journey with Ansible Automation Platform. This is not a sales role it's a technical customer engagement position, ideal for professionals who love solving complex problems, offering premium support, and building long-term customer relationships.

As a DO-TAM, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to your assigned clients guiding them through architectural decisions, troubleshooting issues, delivering updates, and helping them unlock the full power of automation with Red Hat technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to technical advisor for assigned enterprise customers using Ansible Automation.
  • Build strong relationships with key business and IT stakeholders.
  • Understand the customer's IT environment hardware, software, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Provide insights on updates, plan product upgrades, and offer tailored technical advice.
  • Monitor and communicate any technology changes or service disruptions.
  • Troubleshoot issues, escalate internally when needed, and ensure swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with Red Hat Engineering, Support, and Product teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and present findings to customer leadership.
  • Deliver training, workshops, and presentations to technical teams.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and customer engagement strategies.
  • Provide occasional after-hours/on-call support.
  • Travel as required to meet with clients.

What You Bring

  • Strong background in technical support, engineering, system administration, or QA.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible or other IT automation platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/issues with attention to detail and urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • US Citizenship (required for public sector engagement).
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (support, DevOps, sysadmin, or engineering).
  • Red Hat certifications like RHCE (preferred or willingness to earn).
  • Familiarity with Red Hat products like RHEL, OpenShift, Satellite, Ansible Automation Platform, etc.
  • Cloud experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud is a plus.
