About the Role

We are seeking a Creative Marketing Apprentice Intern who is passionate about storytelling and digital media. In this flexible part-time role, you will create engaging social media content, capture authentic moments on-site, and help share the YMCA’s impact through photos, videos, and campaigns. This internship provides hands-on experience in social media strategy, content creation, and analytics reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, create, and publish content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Capture authentic photos and videos at YMCA programs and events.
  • Produce short-form video content (Reels, TikTok-style clips).
  • Collaborate with staff, program directors, and members to highlight impactful stories.
  • Write captions, schedule posts, and monitor social media performance.
  • Assist in developing newsletters, website content, and other communications as needed.
  • Work with the marketing team to request and utilize graphics and other assets.
  • Ensure all content reflects the YMCA’s mission, values, and brand voice.

Required Qualifications

  • College student studying Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Basic video editing skills and familiarity with digital content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Awareness of current industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with social media management, video production, or digital content creation is preferred but not required.
