Customer Service Representative

About the Role:

Are you a people person who enjoys helping others? U-Haul is seeking friendly, motivated individuals to join as Customer Service Representatives. You’ll be the face of U-Haul, providing exceptional service by assisting customers with equipment rentals and returns, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and supporting daily operations using modern technology. This position offers on-the-job training and certification opportunities, making it perfect for those looking to build a career.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist customers with U-Haul products and services inside and outside the center
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
• Move, hook up, and inspect U-Haul trucks and trailers
• Clean and maintain equipment, including fluid level checks
• Answer customer questions and educate them about products and services
• Prepare rental invoices and process equipment returns
• Install hitches and trailer wiring
• Fill propane tanks and operate forklifts (certifications provided)
• Participate in ongoing training through U-Haul University

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to learn and participate in training and certification programs
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors safely
• Nicotine-free (as per U-Haul hiring policy in specific states)

Experience:

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided
• Experience in customer service, retail, or similar roles is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This role involves moderate physical activity including standing for long periods, moving equipment, and working outdoors. Safety gear will be provided as needed.
