Role Overview:
As an IT Resource Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing, tracking, and optimizing technology resources across projects, programs, and operations. You’ll ensure IT capacity aligns with business priorities, enabling timely and cost-effective delivery of technology initiatives. This role works closely with IT leadership, project managers, and business stakeholders to provide insights into resource availability, utilization, and demand forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, maintain, and analyze IT resource data including capacity, skills, and availability.
- Serve as the process owner and subject matter expert for resource planning, forecasting, QA/QC, and reporting.
- Support creation and maintenance of resource forecasts to match staffing with project needs.
- Partner with IT managers and project leaders to understand current and future resource demands.
- Monitor and report on resource utilization, identifying trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Develop dashboards and reports for visibility into resource allocation, capacity planning, and workload balance.
- Assist in workforce planning strategies, skill gap analysis, and training recommendations.
- Ensure IT resource planning aligns with organizational strategic priorities.
- Support vendor resource tracking for third-party contractors and consultants.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices in IT resource and capacity management.
Professional Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Data-driven decision-making with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and business processes.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management or IT resource management are a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in IT resource management, capacity planning, business analysis, or related roles.
- Experience with resource/project management tools and workforce planning software.
- Strong Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization skills.
- Exposure to cross-department collaboration, project coordination, and reporting metrics.
Work Environment:
- Fully remote role requiring a secure home office environment with a reliable private internet connection (cable/fiber preferred).
- May require occasional travel for meetings.
- Must be able to spend extended periods in front of a computer.
Training & Development:
- New employee orientation.
- Required annual compliance training.
- Cross-departmental training as needed.
