Overview:
Join IMO Health as a Senior Clinical Terminologist specializing in oncology and play a vital role in shaping clinical content that powers healthcare solutions. This role blends medical expertise with informatics, enabling you to create, maintain, and enhance terminology-based products that support cancer care, clinical documentation, and precision medicine.
What You’ll Do:
- Leverage oncology expertise to develop specialized terminology for cancer diagnoses, staging, treatment protocols, biomarkers, and emerging precision medicine concepts.
- Conduct research using medical journals and credible clinical sources to support content creation and terminology development.
- Maintain and curate complex oncology terminology datasets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with standard vocabularies.
- Map new terms to SNOMED CT, ICD-O, RxNorm, LOINC, and other standardized clinical vocabularies.
- Collaborate with clinical informaticists, product teams, and healthcare organizations to ensure content meets real-world documentation needs.
- Address customer inquiries, provide clinical expertise, and support product usage in oncology settings.
- Review updates to standardized terminologies and implement necessary content and mapping adjustments.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to showcase the clinical value of terminology solutions.
- Conduct data analysis and queries using SQL to support content validation and improvements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to ongoing innovation in clinical content management.
Qualifications & Education:
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) in Oncology or equivalent; residency or equivalent clinical experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in oncology; informatics experience or formal training is strongly preferred.
- M.S. or advanced degree in Clinical Informatics is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with standardized vocabularies such as SNOMED CT, ICD-O, RxNorm, and LOINC.
- Strong command of English medical terminology; international vocabulary experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis for clinical content validation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of leading projects and acquiring new skills.
