Digital Academy of Florida (DAOF), a Stride K12 partner school, is seeking a passionate High School English & Reading Teacher to join our dynamic online learning team. About the Role
As a teacher at DAOF, you will deliver high-quality instruction in English and Reading to high school students, tailoring lessons to meet each student’s individual needs. You will engage students through synchronous and asynchronous learning, monitor progress, and collaborate closely with students’ families and learning coaches.
This is a full-time remote position, with occasional travel (~20% of the time) for professional development and student testing. A professional home office environment is required, typically 40+ hours per week (9 AM – 5 PM).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalized online learning experiences.
- Differentiate instruction to match students’ mastery levels.
- Maintain accurate grade books and monitor academic integrity.
- Prepare students for standardized tests.
- Build positive relationships with students and families; communicate regularly.
- Support parents/learning coaches with curriculum and technology troubleshooting.
- Travel occasionally for face-to-face professional development and testing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data and drive instruction.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
- Active Florida 5-Year Professional 6-12 English Teaching Certificate.
- Experience teaching high school students in a traditional or online environment.
- Experience with technology integration in education and online learning platforms.
- Familiarity with instructional data analysis to support student outcomes.
Certifications & Licenses
- Must have an active Florida state teaching license.
- Must be working toward, or willing to immediately start, ESOL and Reading Endorsements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong belief in all students’ ability to succeed.
- Ability to work independently and manage virtual classrooms effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Adaptable, receptive to coaching, and committed to professional growth.
Work Environment
- Fully virtual with occasional travel for school events (~20%).
