Part-Time Cook – Rotating Schedule

Overview

Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Cook to prepare hot foods for patient trays, the hospital café, and special functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food service and patient care in a supportive healthcare environment.

As a Cook at Sentara RMH, you’ll ensure that meals are prepared with care, quality, and consistency, helping improve the daily experience of patients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Prepare entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items according to standardized recipes and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Support trayline operations and assist with special event food service as needed.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure timely meal delivery and patient satisfaction.

Education & Experience

• Education: High school diploma preferred; relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a diploma.
• Experience: Previous cook or food service experience (less than 1 year accepted).
• Skills: Basic culinary skills, ability to follow recipes, strong attention to detail, teamwork, and reliability.
