Position Overview

Paladin Security is hiring a Labour Relations Specialist to join their team in Toronto. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will provide comprehensive labour and employee relations support across multiple Ontario branches. This dynamic role involves interpreting collective agreements, advising management on workplace issues, managing grievances, and fostering strong union-management partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret collective agreements and ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and standards.
  • Advise managers on employee relations matters such as attendance, accommodations, and investigations.
  • Handle grievance processes, including mediations, arbitrations, and hearings before the Human Rights Tribunal and Labour Relations Board.
  • Maintain detailed grievance and case files.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with Union Locals.
  • Draft and review employment correspondence including disciplinary and termination letters.
  • Deliver labour relations training and policy guidance to management.
  • Monitor and report on labour relations trends and metrics.
  • Travel as needed to branch locations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in labour relations within unionized and non-unionized environments, preferably in medium to large organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreement interpretation, grievance handling, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
  • Nice to Have: CHRP or CHRL designation.
