About the Role
We’re looking for a Payroll Operations Country Lead (Netherlands) to join our global payroll team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of payroll operations in the Netherlands, lead country-specific payroll projects, and ensure world-class accuracy and compliance for our clients and internal teams.
You’ll serve as the subject matter expert for Dutch payroll, driving process improvements, leading implementation efforts, and supporting our country and operations teams to deliver a seamless payroll experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the country payroll expert for the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Lead and manage payroll implementation projects, collaborating with internal teams and clients for on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain standardized payroll procedures and process documentation.
- Monitor payroll KPIs and SLAs, continuously improving speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide ongoing support during and after payroll implementation to resolve any issues.
- Mentor and guide payroll specialists, fostering professional growth and excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance payroll systems, perform UAT testing, and document improvements.
- Support the Country Manager and Operations Team with payroll-related insights and analysis.
Education & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or IPPM (International Payroll Management) are an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within multinational or client-based environments.
- Strong understanding of Dutch payroll legislation, tax systems, and compliance rules.
- Proven track record of leading payroll projects and implementations successfully.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel/Google Sheets, and modern payroll tools.
- Solid background in accounting, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Prior experience working in a remote or global team is a plus.

- Deep knowledge of Dutch employment and tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, with an eye for detail and process optimization.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced international environment.
- Passionate about leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency.
- Fluent in English (Dutch proficiency is a plus).
