About the Role

GEICO is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and service driven individual to join our team as a Virtual Multi-Line Property Damage Adjuster Trainee.

In this role, you’ll be at the front line of customer support helping customers navigate through claims after accidents or major incidents. You’ll inspect vehicle and specialty damage, estimate repair costs, negotiate settlements, issue payments, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

You’ll work in a dynamic environment that may include virtual inspections, field visits to repair shops or salvage yards, or even customer homes. This position primarily focuses on boat, motorcycle, RV, and other specialty insurance claims.

GEICO provides industry-leading, paid training, including three weeks of hands-on experience at our Ashburn, VA training facility to ensure you’re ready to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate physical damage to vehicles and specialty items
• Accurately estimate repair costs and process claim payments
• Negotiate fair settlements with customers and repair facilities
• Provide clear communication and exceptional customer service
• Use digital tools and technology to manage virtual or field inspections
• Work flexibly between remote and in-field settings as needed

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record (3 consecutive years minimum)
• Strong computer and mechanical aptitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sharp attention to detail with solid decision-making abilities
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work remotely or in the field

Education

• Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Automotive Technology, or a related field
• Insurance Adjuster License is a plus (can be obtained during training)

Experience

• Preferred:
• 1–2 years of customer service, claims handling, or automotive experience
• Prior experience in insurance, collision repair, or related industries is an advantage
