What You’ll Do
As a Senior Project Manager specializing in critical environments, you will lead and manage complex infrastructure projects for mission-critical facilities like data centers. You will oversee power and cooling system upgrades, facility expansions, and infrastructure installations, ensuring uptime, safety, and reliability standards are met. Key daily responsibilities include:
- Supporting project executives on multiple data center and critical infrastructure projects
- Developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets for power, cooling, networking, and security systems
- Managing risks related to uptime requirements, redundancy, budgets, and scope compliance
- Coordinating vendor proposals (RFPs) and working with contractors, MEP specialists, and system integrators
- Preparing project status reports, tracking invoices, and maintaining documentation for compliance
- Ensuring projects meet industry standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier classifications) and critical facility requirements
- Adapting and prioritizing work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment
Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in critical facilities, data center construction, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
- Proficiency reviewing Design Intent and As-Built Drawings for data center infrastructure
- Experience managing data center construction, upgrades, or modernization projects
- Strong cost estimating skills, especially with RS Means or similar formats for specialized systems
- Deep knowledge of data center standards and Tier reliability requirements
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Certifications such as LEED, AIA, PE, PMP, or data center-specific (DCCA, CDCP)
- Experience working in sectors like telecommunications, healthcare, financial services
- Familiarity with mission-critical systems: UPS, generators, PDUs, cooling, fire suppression, and monitoring
