About the Role
We’re hiring a Vice President of Channel and Partnership Development to lead the go-to-market strategy for Velera’s core banking and payments solutions. You’ll drive strategic partnerships, revenue growth, and brand visibility by working closely with community financial institutions and fintech collaborators.
This executive leadership role combines sales strategy, partner development, and thought leadership offering the opportunity to make a major impact across a high-growth fintech ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead national sales strategies for core banking and payments products
- Drive new business development with financial institutions and strategic fintech partners
- Forecast and manage sales pipelines to meet or exceed annual revenue targets
Channel & Partnership Development
- Cultivate relationships with core banking vendors and technology partners
- Own the full partnership lifecycle: outreach, negotiation, onboarding, and go-to-market strategy
- Align cross-functional teams (product, legal, compliance, marketing) to support partnership goals
Market Expansion & Brand Presence
- Represent Velera at industry conferences, credit union events, and state league meetings
- Position the company as a trusted advisor to community banks and credit unions
- Provide tailored solutions that meet evolving market needs
Operational Excellence
- Oversee a seamless transition of new clients to account management and support teams
- Maintain accurate CRM records and deliver executive-level performance reporting
- Stay up to date with financial regulations, fintech trends, and competitive dynamics
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field required
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales leadership, or partnership strategy
- Proven success in the financial services, banking, or fintech industries
- Deep knowledge of core banking platforms and payment technology
- Track record of leading high-performing sales teams and multi-partner strategies
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable presenting at industry events and representing an organization publicly
