About the Role

Penn State’s Office of Business Administration is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Time and Attendance Associate to join the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) Time and Attendance Department. This role focuses on supporting around 300 employees with accurate timecard entry, payroll processing, and resolving time-related issues. You’ll be the go-to person guiding employees and managers on time entry procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Review daily timecard entries to ensure accuracy for OPP employees at University Park
  • Provide clear guidance and troubleshooting support to employees and managers on time and attendance processes
  • Handle leave codes, overtime, and absence records with precision
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports on a bi-weekly/monthly basis
  • Maintain compliance with payroll policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone to deliver excellent customer service

Who You Are

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable managing data
  • Honest, detail-oriented, and able to manage your time independently
  • Clear communicator, both written and verbal
  • A team player who can handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Enjoy working with a diverse group of people and audiences

Education & Experience

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in payroll, timekeeping, or administrative support, ideally within a university or large organizational setting
  • Experience with time and attendance systems or payroll software is a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass background and credit checks due to fiduciary responsibilities
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (Penn State does not sponsor work visas)
