Sr. Principal IT Architect

About the Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal IT Architect to lead and shape enterprise IT strategy across a large, complex organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to design scalable, innovative technology solutions that impact multiple business units. As a trusted technical leader, you will collaborate with senior leadership, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment with business goals and industry best practices.

You will also mentor other architects, influence strategic technology decisions, and help drive the organization’s IT vision forward. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility with a focus on delivering impactful solutions that support growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and maintain enterprise-level IT solution architectures for business applications and capabilities.
• Lead the vision and strategy for complex IT solutions, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Establish and promote enterprise-wide IT policies, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with architecture communities to educate and align stakeholders on IT strategies.
• Integrate emerging technologies to simplify systems and improve efficiency.
• Mentor architects and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
• Define reference architectures, maturity models, and roadmaps that support business objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership, business units, and external partners on architecture decisions.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Enterprise Architecture, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master’s degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in enterprise IT architecture or a related senior technical role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and IT infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, or SAFe Architect.
• Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining high-quality architectural standards.

Preferred Certifications:

• TOGAF Certified Architect
• Zachman Certified
• ITIL Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
