Job Summary

As an Inspector Apprentice at Manheim, you will play a vital role in inspecting vehicles, verifying vehicle details, and documenting condition reports to support our vehicle operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about cars and detail-oriented work.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information including VIN, year, make, model, and mileage accurately in our system.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, exterior and interior condition, documenting damage, repairs, and any missing or faulty components.
• Perform data entry and documentation of vehicle inspections with attention to detail.
• Assist with additional tasks such as moving vehicles, jump-starting cars, and imaging vehicles as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld devices for data entry.
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
• Physically able to perform inspection duties, including bending, crouching, and lifting.
• Must pass an Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days of employment.

Preferred Experience

• Up to 2 years of automotive-related experience (body shop, mechanical work, claims adjusting, or estimating).
• Familiarity with both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Knowledge of basic automotive body and mechanical systems.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions year-round.
• Capacity to lift vehicle hoods, crouch, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
• Good near vision and ability to detect subtle vehicle damage or color differences under varying lighting conditions.
