Software Development Manager

About the Role

TNS is seeking a skilled and driven Software Development Manager to lead a team of talented software engineers working on cutting-edge Financial Markets SaaS products. This is a hands-on leadership position—perfect for someone who thrives on blending technical strategy with people management.

As the Software Development Manager, you’ll be at the heart of technical decision-making, team leadership, UI/UX improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from Product, Support, and IT.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software developers.
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional growth.
• Establish and manage a QA function for improved product reliability.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Technical Architecture & Oversight

• Define the technical vision and architectural roadmap.
• Oversee the development of scalable, maintainable web applications.
• Improve UI/UX across the product suite to enhance user experience.
• Ensure cohesive customer experience across all applications.

Process Optimization

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Manage source control, development environments, and tool access.
• Ensure efficient collaboration between DevOps and Development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the escalation point for customer issues and support tickets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to break down requirements and plan sprints.
• Report on project status, risks, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Education Requirements

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Preferred: Master’s Degree or additional certifications (e.g., PMP, AWS, Agile/Scrum)

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years in professional software development
• 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role
• Proven experience delivering SaaS applications
• Experience in Java, Spring Framework, Vue.js (or similar like React/Angular)
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS
• Background in Agile development, Git, CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of UI/UX best practices
• Experience working with cross-functional and customer-facing teams

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Familiarity with financial markets, trading platforms, or market data vendors
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms
• Experience managing distributed/remote teams
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized apps
• Experience building or leading QA/test automation teams
