Role Summary

As an Inside Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in growing sales and improving profitability by delivering exceptional customer service. You will process customer orders, ensure timely delivery, and support our sales team’s growth initiatives. You will be the main contact for sales-related inquiries and help provide a smooth, professional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding day-to-day customer support based on Valmont’s core values: Passion, Integrity, Continuous Improvement & Delivering Results.
  • Manage customer orders, process quotes, and expedite deliveries efficiently.
  • Serve as a liaison between sales, production, and customers, providing updates and resolving issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer master files and documentation within internal systems (VCC Max).
  • Coordinate with regional sales managers on competitive quotes and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and margin requirements on quotes/orders.
  • Participate in sales meetings, trainings, conferences, and occasional travel (5-10%).
  • Collaborate with teams to continuously improve sales and customer service processes.

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree preferred, or 4+ years of experience in sales, quotations, or customer service roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial sales/customer service is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the galvanizing industry or engineering project details is beneficial.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — to present information clearly.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing leadership and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally and wear required PPE.
