About the Role
As the Business Development Team Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the BD team, building strategic partnerships, and expanding CoW DAO’s presence across the DeFi ecosystem. You’ll manage high-value relationships, define our BD strategy, and contribute directly to growth by engaging with fintechs, DeFi protocols, and institutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a strategic and operational focus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Business Development team; set strategy and processes
- Identify and secure partnerships with:
- DeFi protocols
- Institutional trading firms and market makers
- Consumer-facing fintech apps (wallets, neobanks, etc.)
- Represent CoW DAO’s products: CoW Protocol, CoW Swap, MEV Blocker, and CoW AMM
- Pitch and sell to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Manage complex deal processes (RFPs, legal reviews, negotiations)
- Build sales materials: decks, outreach lists, influence maps
- Analyze BD performance and report on impact
- Bring partner insights back to influence product strategy
- Represent CoW DAO at global conferences and virtual events
- Mentor team members and drive collaboration across departments
- Manage budgets for events, partnerships, and outreach
Requirements
- Experience:
- 5+ years in Business Development, Sales, or Partnerships
- Experience selling into large fintechs, trading firms, or DeFi protocols
- Previous team leadership or mentorship experience
- Proven success managing complex sales cycles and partnerships
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-focused approach
- Comfortable with decentralized, remote work environments
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for DeFi and blockchain
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus but not required
- Self-education and strong working knowledge in Web3/DeFi is highly valued
Nice to Have
- Experience with consumer-facing fintech apps or wallets
- Background in institutional finance and/or crypto trading
- Understanding of MEV, intents, AMMs, and on-chain execution
- Experience creating sales enablement materials and pitch decks
- Familiarity with budget management for BD campaigns or conferences
