Position Overview
The North Carolina Community College System is hiring a Remote Executive Assistant II to serve as the Operations Coordinator to the State Board. This critical role supports the executive leadership by managing operations, coordinating statewide board meetings, and facilitating technology and logistics for the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges (SBCC).

Key Responsibilities
State Board Meeting Coordination
- Organize monthly board and committee meetings (both in Raleigh and on community college campuses across NC).
- Manage logistics: meals, travel, accommodations, guest coordination, contracts, and virtual access (Zoom, Teams, YouTube).
- Distribute agendas, documents, and meeting minutes to Board members and staff.
- Ensure compliance with public meeting laws and proper live-streaming.
Technology & Office Operations
- Use Microsoft Office, DocuSign, Adobe Pro, and other tools to manage documentation, file systems, and virtual communication.
- Maintain organized electronic filing systems and publish documents for public access on the website.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field + 2 years of executive-level administrative experience
OR - Associate’s Degree + 4 years of relevant experience
OR - High School Diploma/GED + 6 years of progressively responsible office administration experience
Preferred Experience
- 3–5 years of experience coordinating executive-level meetings and board governance support
- Proven ability to manage budgets, reports, and spreadsheets
- Expertise in managing both in-person and remote events with 20+ attendees
- Experience working in government or public sector environments is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and writing ability (candidates will be asked to complete a writing exercise)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Teams, YouTube, DocuSign
- Ability to manage confidential information and navigate high-level communications
- Knowledge of NC public meeting laws (or willingness to learn)
