Divers raised deep concerns about increasing marine pollution and how it is affecting ocean life . Increase in Marine pollution: A Greek island in Europe ( Eastern Aegean sea) is affected by marine pollution.
31 divers joined the initiative to clean the area and according to them they found a large amount of Garbage near Votsi end which is the main area where fishes live mostly and most of the people do fishing there. Greece decided to create two more marine parks worth 780 million euros.
Alonissos Island: In Alonissos island plastic bottles and tyres were found in the ocean when divers dive inside.
Greece President said : “Greece has the potential to change everything and to protect ocean life. He further added “if everyone thinks like this and takes his responsibility we can protect ocean life”.
Ocean life: Plastic is deeply affecting ocean life. According to researchers, by 2040 there is a risk of 23-37 million plastic wastes per year.
Another reason for the increase in marine pollution is industrial water which discharges in oceans without any recycling. There are harmful chemicals in that water which are affecting ocean life including fishes, dolphins and sharks. Also oil in water and also lack of awareness is affecting ocean life badly.

According to research, the bottles which are found on islands in the South Atlantic ocean are mostly from Asia. The trash from Alonissos island is gathered at a park and the country is taking significant steps to improve and recover from this increasing marine pollution.
Effects of increasing pollution
●Increase in marine pollution can harm ocean life
●Plastic bags and pollutants can be easily consumed by marine organisms and it can harm Humans who consume them.
●Increase in Marine pollution can lead to bad effects on tourism and also it can decrease fishing.
If humans will consume affected species it can lead to gastrointestinal infection and many other diseases.
A research was held by wildlife and according to them almost 12 million tons of plastic enter the marine and ocean every year.

Divers raise concerns about this increase in plastic as it can affect humans and ocean life . Countries who discharge plastic in oceans:
●India is among the countries who discharge large amounts of plastic in the ocean , almost 9.6 million tons of plastic.
● Malaysia is also producing a large amount of plastic and 9% of total plastic reaches the oceans which is affecting fishes and other organisms.
Bangladesh , China , Vietnam , Brazil and Thailand are also among the list of countries who discharge large amounts of plastic in oceans.
Conclude: We should protect our ocean life by taking our responsibility by: 1 stop throwing plastics in water. 2 Recycle harmful products as it can affect ocean life. 3 Industries should avoid release of chemical water in oceans.
The marine population is increasing the risk of suffocation. Marine organisms are consuming trash of plastics and it can affect them resulting in death and in many cases it can harm people who will consume them. Only awareness can help to reduce marine pollution. Everyone should take their responsibility.
